About the Artist
Charley was born 1986 in Manchester and moved to the seaside in North Wales with her family in 1998. She grew up watching a lot of cartoons and then trying to draw on every blank bit of paper she could find. Even though her dad supplied her with lots of printing packs of paper she still did stupid things like drawing on the back pages of books or left over wallpaper rolls from the garage.
Charley has always loved animals. Her family home housed many cats and dogs, which inspired a lot of her cartoons as a youngster…
After finishing college she went on to study Animation at Southampton Solent University. Three years later she graduated with a first class honours degree and her final film “Three’s a crowd” won an award for best narrative at the end of year show.
Charley now lives in Hampshire with her boyfriend, two dogs and a cat
and works as a freelance animator illustrator and works part time as an associate lecturer teaching Character design and Life drawing.
Most weekends when she isn’t doodling she helps out at Second Chance Animal Rescue walking the dogs and participates in fundraising for animal charities.
